Expertise
I am a hotel owner in the Out Islands for the last 30 years. I would like to help people understand what the Out Island experience is all about. I can answer questions about what hotels are like, what to do there, if they are moderate or expensive, who goes there generally, what the weather is like, what there is to do on individal islands, some contacts of people to talk to, a little history of some of the islands and my opinion on what are the most comfortable places to visit.

Question
I am thinking about getting married in the Bahamas. I was wondering if had any suggestions. I am looking for a place to get married at and/or stay at that is nice, preferably 3-5 stars but not very expensive (like Atlantis). I am willing to get married at a resort or in a smaller venue. I would like to get married on the beach, or in a garden or somewhere that overlooks the beach. Do you have any suggestions?
I am also looking for a hotel, so any suggestions for that too would be appreciated. Thanks!

There are literally hundreds of places like this in The Bahamas. Just take you pick of the islands. One of your concerns might be transportation costs to the specific island and I am pretty sure then you have to choose between Grand Bahama or New Providence (Nassau). There are several small places where you could have a nice wedding on the beach or overlooking the water on either of those two islands. BUT if you want something special and airfare isn't that big a deal then you have many more choices. There are direct non-stop flights from the US to several of the out islands where you could have a very unique wedding. Abaco, Eleuthera and Exuma are some of the best that come to mind. You might try going on www.bahamas.com web site and looking at those speciic islands first to get an idea of what kind of place each one is before you start looking at airfare. My pick would we Exuma where I have been many times and still love to go every year. I hope which ever island you choose that you have a wonderful time.
