About Barry Benjamin Expertise I am a hotel owner in the Out Islands for the last 30 years. I would like to help people understand what the Out Island experience is all about. I can answer questions about what hotels are like, what to do there, if they are moderate or expensive, who goes there generally, what the weather is like, what there is to do on individal islands, some contacts of people to talk to, a little history of some of the islands and my opinion on what are the most comfortable places to visit.

Answer Martha:
There are many other charming and accomadating properties in the Out Islands of the Bahamas that would love to have your business. I will name a few and then give you my choice and the reason why.
Abaco - Bluff House is a great place to have a wedding as the staff there have done many of them and know what to expect, plus it is a fabulous place.
Andros - Tiamo Resort is THE place to go these days. Mike Hartman has created a garden in Andros that few can match.
Eluethera - Cove Eluethera is a wonderful property under new management that would love to have your business.
Cat Island - Fernandez Bay is a very out of the way place with cottages and very peaceful with great staff.
Exuma - Any of the Peace and Plenty resorts on Exuma would be able to provide a great location with friendly and competent staff.
Long Island - Stella Maris has cottages, houses or hotel rooms with great location and a great staff.
My favorite is the Peace and Plenty resorts. I have seen the staff there bend over backwards to make sure that everything goes right for the guest. I also have to say that I have been going to Exuma since 1969 with my family. In 1971 my father bought the original Club Peace and Plenty which he has developed into three resorts. You can see any of these resorts by going to www.bahamas.com
I hope you have a great time where ever you pick.
