Ballet/Tights

Question
Hi, I am 32 years old and have been doing ballet for a month now. I was a triathlon athlete for many years when a month ago I ended up in a ballet class purely to get more suppleness, coordination and so on. 2 classes quickly became more and I think I have found my passion. I was asked to wear tights to class as apparantly I have potencial to be a good dancer. My problem is the following: I have very big genitals and have had all my life. When I wear a dancebelt my manhood is lifted up and out and I look enormous. As I am one of 2 guys in the class I am double his size. I look bigger than the stars in the photos on the wall too. I have heard that the male ballet dancer's body is all about flowing lines. I would just like to know if I should try and flatten myself a bit and if yes, how do I do it? In your experience surely you must have come across dancers with out-of- the-ordinary big bulges too? Do the ladies discuss men in this way and what do ladies in your eperience think about men like these? I do not mind the big bulge but would not want to be a distraction only. I await your answer anxiously as I would like to get closure on this issue, wear my tights and get on with my dancing. Regards.

Answer
I would not worry about it.  It's probably more noticeable to yourself than to anybody else.  In ballet it's taken for granted that tights will leave nothing to the imagination.  There are dancers, Rudolph Nureyev for example, who stuffed the front of their dancebelts!  If you feel truly uncomfortable talk to your teacher about wearing shorts.
Good luck.

Expertise

I can answer lots about ballet, specifically the Vaganova syllabus. I'm still training, but both my parents were professional dancers, so most answers will be coming from them, not me. :) They're the experts. Obviously, questions about difficult technique, etc, would be better answered with someone else, but if you're just becoming interested in dancing, or are having problems with basic steps, like pirouettes or plies, then I may be able to help

Experience

I've seen ballet since the age of 0, because of my parents, and I am training to become a professional dancer now.
