Ballet/Ballet Summer Intensives 2009

Question
Are there any summer intensives out there that are good and those not on pointe can get into and still learn from them? I If you could give me the names of these summer intensives that would be great.

Answer
It might be best to look into smaller summer intensives.  These small intensives will offer a more  personalized training method tailored to your needs.  They will not make you go on pointe, and won't require an audition to get into.  The ones I know of include the Massachusetts Academy of Ballet's and the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet's.  I'm sure there are some around you as well.  Just look for smaller scale intensives, not ABT's or NYCB's.  Best of luck!

Expertise

I can answer lots about ballet, specifically the Vaganova syllabus. I'm still training, but both my parents were professional dancers, so most answers will be coming from them, not me. :) They're the experts. Obviously, questions about difficult technique, etc, would be better answered with someone else, but if you're just becoming interested in dancing, or are having problems with basic steps, like pirouettes or plies, then I may be able to help

Experience

I've seen ballet since the age of 0, because of my parents, and I am training to become a professional dancer now.
