Question
Hi my name is Elizabeth, i am 20 years old and i love ballet it has always been a dream of myn to dance. unfortunately i grew up in a very small town with no dance instructors. I have just moved to the city where there are several very good dance schools and I'm just wondering if i might be to old to start learning ballet. i want to learn it as more than just a form of exercise i would love to perform it and eventually be in toe shoes but I'm wondering if i might be past the prime for that. any information would be great. Thanks so much!! :)

Answer
You're definitely not too old to learn!  Studios offer adult classes all the time.  It might be harder to find classes for pointe, but it should be possible.  Remember, pointe is an extension of your technique, so your technique must be very solid before you put on those shoes.
Performance opportunities are abundant.  If you cannot find a venue to perform ballet in, taking ballet class will also help with other styles of dance.
Do some investigating, and search for adult classes.  I hope you love it!

Expertise

I can answer lots about ballet, specifically the Vaganova syllabus. I'm still training, but both my parents were professional dancers, so most answers will be coming from them, not me. :) They're the experts. Obviously, questions about difficult technique, etc, would be better answered with someone else, but if you're just becoming interested in dancing, or are having problems with basic steps, like pirouettes or plies, then I may be able to help

Experience

I've seen ballet since the age of 0, because of my parents, and I am training to become a professional dancer now.
