Question
I just started taking classical and modern ballet lessons at the age of 13. Do you think that I can go on point and if yes when exactly? Have I started too late?

Answer
I started ballet at 13 and was on pointe by 14.  It varies depending on circumstances.  It's important to have a strong technique and a strong body before pointe work starts.  You have definitely not started to late, but you need to make sure you are getting the correct type of training.  Your teacher should have a syllabus and the goal should be to train professional level dancers instead of recital-oriented classes.  This type of training will make your strong and prepare you for pointe.  Good luck!

Expertise

I can answer lots about ballet, specifically the Vaganova syllabus. I'm still training, but both my parents were professional dancers, so most answers will be coming from them, not me. :) They're the experts. Obviously, questions about difficult technique, etc, would be better answered with someone else, but if you're just becoming interested in dancing, or are having problems with basic steps, like pirouettes or plies, then I may be able to help

Experience

I've seen ballet since the age of 0, because of my parents, and I am training to become a professional dancer now.
