Question
well hi i am 13 years old and im in Bronx dance academy well i need to know how is dance unique and how does it help in the real life... please answer this, is for a home work assignment

Answer
Hi Katherine. On http://www.theballetstore.com there is an article about SAT scores being higher in students who learn the arts. So that is one way dance helps in real life. Also, dancers have a higher bone density and less body fat, and more lean muscle mass than people who do not dance. Sciencedaily.com has several articles about dancer bone density mass.

Dance is quite a superior training for athletes - there is also an article on theballetstore.com that tells how football players study ballet since their own training does not teach them how to move without getting knee and ligament injries - yet ballet does.

Also dance is unique in that pointe work strengthens the feet like nothing else!

Hope that gives you some points to get started with!

All the best, Dianne

You are welcome!
