Question
i love to dance and it has been my dream for a long time to dance ballet point. i used to take dance classes of jazz and some gymnastics, and i was in a dance team but that was several years ago....i was wondering if i would be able to learn pointe without really any real dance experience?

Answer
You really need a strong background in ballet before you can start pointe.  Because pointe is just an extension of normal ballet technique you must have a sturdy foundation.  Also, your body has to be strong enough.  However, it sounds like if you started taking ballet classes you would progress quickly because of your previous experience and would probably be able to start on pointe after a year or two.

Expertise

I can answer lots about ballet, specifically the Vaganova syllabus. I'm still training, but both my parents were professional dancers, so most answers will be coming from them, not me. :) They're the experts. Obviously, questions about difficult technique, etc, would be better answered with someone else, but if you're just becoming interested in dancing, or are having problems with basic steps, like pirouettes or plies, then I may be able to help

Experience

I've seen ballet since the age of 0, because of my parents, and I am training to become a professional dancer now.
