Question
My dance studio is losing a lot of business and its starting to go downhill. I only get 1hr of ballet a week, and I'm just not getting out of it what I want. I've also been off my pointe shoes for a few months because we havent had enough time. Im attending the Richmond ballet summer school and I feel like I'll be way over my head!!! I really want to get back in shape with my pointe shoes, but the only place for me to dance is my concrete basement floor, not a good idea. I dont know what to do!!

Answer
It sounds like it's time to look for a better school, one that offers pointe class and more ballet!  Until then, you should ask your teacher if there is any time after class when a studio is open.  You can put on your shoes and practice.  Also work on strengthening your feet with theraband exercises, releves, and ankle circles.
Best of luck, and have fun this summer!

Expertise

I can answer lots about ballet, specifically the Vaganova syllabus. I'm still training, but both my parents were professional dancers, so most answers will be coming from them, not me. :) They're the experts. Obviously, questions about difficult technique, etc, would be better answered with someone else, but if you're just becoming interested in dancing, or are having problems with basic steps, like pirouettes or plies, then I may be able to help

Experience

I've seen ballet since the age of 0, because of my parents, and I am training to become a professional dancer now.
