Answer
Wow.  I'm not sure if i can put everything it takes into this one response.  I'll try to give you the best information i can. =]

Most profession ballet dancers train from a young age, like nine or ten.  They take class at least once 6 or 7 days a week.  Girls must take pointe class as well.  To be a professional ballet dancer you must have a good stage presence, the technical ability to do steps that are choreographed, the correct body type (thin and muscular), and the endurance and hard work to make it through the many rehearsals and performances.  Basically, a dancer must be extremely dedicated to their art form and very disciplined to keep their body in tip top shape for performing.

If there are any other specific questions you have i'm totally willing to help!

Expertise

I can answer lots about ballet, specifically the Vaganova syllabus. I'm still training, but both my parents were professional dancers, so most answers will be coming from them, not me. :) They're the experts. Obviously, questions about difficult technique, etc, would be better answered with someone else, but if you're just becoming interested in dancing, or are having problems with basic steps, like pirouettes or plies, then I may be able to help

Experience

I've seen ballet since the age of 0, because of my parents, and I am training to become a professional dancer now.
