AboutConnie Expertise I can answer lots about ballet, specifically the Vaganova syllabus. I'm still training, but both my parents were professional dancers, so most answers will be coming from them, not me. :) They're the experts. Obviously, questions about difficult technique, etc, would be better answered with someone else, but if you're just becoming interested in dancing, or are having problems with basic steps, like pirouettes or plies, then I may be able to help
Experience I've seen ballet since the age of 0, because of my parents, and I am training to become a professional dancer now.
Question I am 18 years old. I started ballet when I was a child, but was withdrawn shortly thereafter due to sever flat feet. I have always wanted to go back and learn ballet again. Am I too old to start? I know that most start when they are little. Am I able to dance ballet with flat feet? My ankles are weak, and I know I need to work on that. Also, if I start, would I be put into a class of little children or with girls like me who are taking it late in life?
Answer You're never too old to start! Classes will help your feet get stronger right away, and unless it's extremely painful having flat feet will probably not be an issue. Look around for a place offering an adult ballet class so you can learn with other adults. Best of luck, and have fun!
