Question My question for you is that I am currently a hip-hop dancer and i want to further my dance career by integrating my hip-hop skills with some ballet skills. However, I have never taken a ballet class in my life and I would love to do that because it will build poise and another type of character we (dancers) need. I am an entertainer because everyone can dance, but everyone can not entertain. So please give me advice on to where should I go to seek professional training in Orlando, Florida. Thanks for your time.
Hi Ricky. The link above is the page of the Orlando Ballet School. It is a professional school. There are 4 locations in SO FL.
2 locations are in Orlando, one is in Longwood and the other is in Tampa.
Give them a call and see what roster of classes they have going.
This school is of good repute and I believe it is the best training you can get in your area. Classical ballet is a wonderful support for other dancing styles. You can build strength and prevent dance injuries with good basic technique.
Call them, and let them know if you are already performing as a professional. Some schools would be willing to place you in one of their professional level classes if you are professional.
I can answer questions about ballet positions, ballet movements and ballet technique, pointe shoes and pre pointe exercise, mens training, ballet diet, general health issues related to dance, artistry, performance, modern dance, rehabilitation from injuries, and teaching ballet. I have taught ballet, choreographed, produced and directed dance companies. For any answers related to health questions I will offer my experience, and give references to information, but I also automatically include "see a professional".
