Ballet/2 1/2 year old wants to dance.

Question
I have a 2 1/2 year old that is always on her tiptoes dancing around the room, their straight up and on top. She will dance all day long if you let her. My question that I want to ask is if she is at a good age to get her started and is there a good place to take her in Alaska? I live in Wasilla, Alaska and don't see much of that here.

It sounds like she's ready for a creative movement class!  those usually start around 3 or 4, but some studios do take kids as young as two and a half.  I unfortunately don't know much about dance in alaska, but i'm sure there's a studio around somewhere!  if not, put on some music and let her dance in the living room.  best of luck. =]

I can answer lots about ballet, specifically the Vaganova syllabus. I'm still training, but both my parents were professional dancers, so most answers will be coming from them, not me. :) They're the experts. Obviously, questions about difficult technique, etc, would be better answered with someone else, but if you're just becoming interested in dancing, or are having problems with basic steps, like pirouettes or plies, then I may be able to help

I've seen ballet since the age of 0, because of my parents, and I am training to become a professional dancer now.
