Question Hi, my 3 year old daughter just started dance. We signed her up for the tap/ballet class, we thought she'd have fun with it. I took her the first couple times and she did fine. The last time my husband took her and they brought her out crying. They said she was scared of the tap noise so a couple days later we (Dad) took her to a ballet only class and she still came out crying. I'm not sure what to do should I keep trying to bring her to class or drop it?
Answer I think this question is very specific to your daughter. I would talk to the teacher and see if anything is triggering this crying. If there's no solution I would take her out of the class. She can always try dance again if she expresses an interest in it later!
I can answer lots about ballet, specifically the Vaganova syllabus. I'm still training, but both my parents were professional dancers, so most answers will be coming from them, not me. :) They're the experts. Obviously, questions about difficult technique, etc, would be better answered with someone else, but if you're just becoming interested in dancing, or are having problems with basic steps, like pirouettes or plies, then I may be able to help
Experience
I've seen ballet since the age of 0, because of my parents, and I am training to become a professional dancer now.
