Ballet/Summer Intensives: What are they?

Question
Hello again! I was hoping if you could help answer these questions on summer intensives. What are they? What do they teach? How long are they? Do they cost a lot? Are they necessary when trying to go after a career in ballet? And more that I probably don't know about. You see, I was hoping to sign up for the summer intensive at the Ballet of Academy Arts, but I want to know what's it like and about? Thanks if you could answer!

Answer
Rocio. Just google /search ballet summer intensives. You'll get an idea of how many there are! It's almost overwhelming.

An intensive is a chance to do ballet all day long and see if you even like doing it that much. You see what your competition is, you get exposed to different teachers, and hopefully, learn an awful lot!

Some you have to audition for. Some intensives are used as auditions to get into a professional school.

You can find out about all of them, thanks to the internet.

All the best, Dianne
