Question
QUESTION: um I'm 18 and i quit dancing because i was doing bad in my schooling. my parent say i can start if i want.  I want to but i think I'm to over weight, I'm 100 kg???    I need exercise tips and some diet tips!!  please help me.

ANSWER: Hi Ashli. You can lose weight by taking ballet, to begin with. Just start! The following are some articles I've written:

http://balletshoesandpointeshoes.blogspot.com/2007/08/lose-weight-safely-in-ball

http://balletshoesandpointeshoes.blogspot.com/2008/06/healthy-eating-habits-duri

I recommend that you read the book "Protein Power" by the doctors Eades & Eades. It will tell you exactly how to lose weight while still building muscle.

If you would rather lose weight before going into ballet class, try some Pilates classes. You'll learn how to build strength for ballet, stretch, and burn some fat too.

All the best, Dianne

QUESTION: What about so food tips, i like junk food but i want to kut back wat do i do???!!!!  and   wat schools in Australia do u think i should go to?? and the shoes hurt HELPP!!!

Answer
Ashlii I already answered your questions about foods with the blog posts. It sounds like you really need to study this topic in depth.

If your shoes hurt I believe it is most likely that they don't fit - too short or narrow. If you are referring to pointe shoes, I recommend that you get in shape before you try to use them.

You are just starting again, so take one thing at a time and deal with it. I don't know what area you are in, and I recommend that you learn to search - just like you found me - and find the schools in your area and see which one would be good for you at this point. Which means, has a lower level class for persons your age so you can get in shape.

All the best, Dianne
