Question
I'm 15 years old and I'm interested in taking ballet for the first time ( besides a few months when I was three). I'm in colorguard now which requires some dance sections but not much. I know I'm very old to begin ballet, but I'm not trying to get into the perfession. I just want to take it for fun. My real concern is that im not skinny eough. I'm about five foot (maybe a couple of inches taller) and about 136 lbs. I'm on a diet and doing extra exercising. But, am I still to heavy to do ballet.

Answer
Hi Cherish. No, you are not too heavy to do ballet. If you are eating a healthy diet, extra exercise with ballet will help you lose weight. Also you'll develop some technique which will help any dance you are learning.

All the best with your dancing! Dianne
