Ballet/Starting Ballet At A Late Age

Question
Hi,
I have always loved watching dance, I have always wished I could dance but I
am really shy so I never went into dance. I want to begin ballet but I fear that
I am too old. I am 15 years old. Am I too old? What are some exercises or
other things I can do to help me in pursuing this? Also... are there late entry
classes so I wouldn't have to dance with 4 year olds? Oh I also have no dance
experience except for this one creative dance class when I was three... which
I don't believe counts. Anyway, there are a lot of questions but thank you so
much for your time!

Answer
You're definitely not too old!  You can start ballet at any age.  I know of a few studios that offer adult classes, for adult beginners just like you. =]  As for exercises, I would work on just making sure you are in good health.  Do some cardio exercise, and maybe work on your flexibility.  However, the best way to get better at ballet is to take ballet class!
Look around for an adult class; you should be fine. =] I hope you love it!

Expertise

I can answer lots about ballet, specifically the Vaganova syllabus. I'm still training, but both my parents were professional dancers, so most answers will be coming from them, not me. :) They're the experts. Obviously, questions about difficult technique, etc, would be better answered with someone else, but if you're just becoming interested in dancing, or are having problems with basic steps, like pirouettes or plies, then I may be able to help

Experience

I've seen ballet since the age of 0, because of my parents, and I am training to become a professional dancer now.
