Question
ok so im 16 and I know a good amount of ballet. im in this thing called colorguard and it helps with my flexibility and ballet and we dance alot.I really want to be a dancer when i grow up but I have 6 other siblings so their isn't alot of extra money around so i haven't been able to take dance classes. I want to pursue my dancing career with dance classes..is it too late to start taking dance classes and become a professional dancer?

Answer
It would be difficult to start now and become a professional ballet dancer.  Difficult, but not impossible.  Other fields of dance are more leniant, such as modern and jazz.  However, taking ballet classes will directly translate into good modern and jazz technique.  Find a well respected and teacher with good credentials, be dedicated, and work hard.  If you're talented and willing to learn you could do it.  Good luck!

Expertise

I can answer lots about ballet, specifically the Vaganova syllabus. I'm still training, but both my parents were professional dancers, so most answers will be coming from them, not me. :) They're the experts. Obviously, questions about difficult technique, etc, would be better answered with someone else, but if you're just becoming interested in dancing, or are having problems with basic steps, like pirouettes or plies, then I may be able to help

Experience

I've seen ballet since the age of 0, because of my parents, and I am training to become a professional dancer now.
