Ballet/How Long?

Question
Hi, I just started ballet about 2 weeks ago. I had been doing hip hop and jazz, but I like ballet SO much better. I go to class 2 days a week. I practice as much as possible every day, stretching and working on building flexibility. I was wondering, how long will it take for me to get into pointe shoes? I'm very determined and very focused. How long do you think it will take?

Answer
Hi Morgan,

First of all, be sure your passion for ballet is good, and taking as much lessons as possible will at no doubt help you to go "en pointe".

Anyway,

Dancing en pointe is a dream which, for most ballet dancers, come true one day, after long work, long technical acquisition and practice.

Take your time, learn and learn again from your ballet teacher then, within 2 years or so, you will probably be able to take pointe lessons.

Wish this helps,

'later,

Olivier
