Question
Hi Connie, I am a 19 years old girl and just started ballet since more than a month ago. Previously I registered myself in an adult class, but the school principle didn't agree with that and put me in a special class with majority of 4th grader girls. And the class is only take once a week for 70 minutes. Does the special class good fit me better? I'm not looking for any professional future in ballet because I know it's impossible, but can I at least show people what I could do in the future? And how to increase my flexibility in my age? I'm terrible in saute, how can I improve my jump? Thaank youuu.. Anyway I have classical music basic, perhaps this could help you answer my questions :) And I alwaayyss love ballet since I was a kid, but only could get opportunity to learn now..

Answer
It sounds like the adult class would be much more fitting for you.  You'll be surrounded by people your age an in the appropriate atmosphere for the dance goals you're looking to achieve.  Also, the more classes you have the faster you will improve.  If you take more than one class a week it will be much easier to catch onto new terminology.
To improve flexibility and jumping, take ballet class!  =]  However, you can also do gentle stretching when you are warm, after exercise.  Your jumps will get higher as your legs get stronger from ballet.  You can also go to the gym and do some leg exercises.

It's great that you like classical music and ballet.  I hope you end up having a lot of fun, and learning a lot. Best of luck!

Expertise

I can answer lots about ballet, specifically the Vaganova syllabus. I'm still training, but both my parents were professional dancers, so most answers will be coming from them, not me. :) They're the experts. Obviously, questions about difficult technique, etc, would be better answered with someone else, but if you're just becoming interested in dancing, or are having problems with basic steps, like pirouettes or plies, then I may be able to help

Experience

I've seen ballet since the age of 0, because of my parents, and I am training to become a professional dancer now.
