Question
My daughter is just about to take Grade 5 Cecchetti Ballet.  We are considering a move to another school where the school will consider pupils for a reduction in fees if they are RAD Grade 6.  Are these two grades comparable or is the Cecchetti Grade 5 slightly higher?

Answer
Hi Belinda. I doubt that the two Grades would be considered comparable - they are stylistically so different. Cecchetti has been considered a more professional grade training for many years, but there may be a different perception of this at the RAD studio.....

I think that it would be reasonable to expect that your daughter could study in the Grade 6 RAD class - although it will be a change in style for her if she has only studied Cecchetti. Most studios would allow her to watch a class if she is a prospective student.

I hope this response is helpful -all the best, Dianne
