Question
Hi, I am fifteen and I am a level seven dancer at a pre-professional school. I was wondering if you thought my dance schedule was to light.
Mon-3 hrs of Vaganova and Balanchine (on pointe)
Wed- 1 hr 30 min of Vaganova and Balanchine (on pointe) and 1 hr of hiphop/jazz
Friday- 1 hr of Cecchetti (sometimes on pointe, other times not).
Sat- 1 hr 30 min of Vaganova and Balanchine (Sometimes on pointe, depending on my mood)
Sun- 2 hrs of Nutcracker rehearsal(on flat)
Is this a heavy enough dance schedule to help my technique dudrasticallyAlso, Are the different forms I am taking good to have in my resume for summer intensives and art school applications?
Thanks!!!

Answer
Hi Jane. It sounds to me like this is a good schedule with a well-rounded style variety. Your muscles need recovery time on the days you don't dance, and if you felt compelled to do more, you can add pointe shoe exercises (just for the foot muscles), or extra stretching, still allowing your muscles to rest.

All the best! Dianne.
