Question
I need advice I'm 13 and I have my first ballet audition in 2 weeks. I've done dance auditions before but not for associates courses and summer schools. I'm really nervous trying to perfect everything and I don't know what to expect and what to practice. Its at northern ballet academy in the UK and its the associate course and summer school.

Answer
Hi Cara. Don't worry about perfecting everything, but staying relaxed enough to do your best. The teachers at the audition will look for your talent, and your physical ability.

They will be interested in students not for how perfectly they execute each ballet movement, but for the potential of being re-trained, if they have had not the best training.

You will probably do a class, so try to relax as much as you can. They will look for dancers who comprehend and learn exercises quickly. There may be one very tricky enchainement, to see how quickly you learn.

They will look for dancers who have a physique that will endure the intense training.

You have chosen a very good academy!
