Question
hi im 14, and ive been dancing since I was 9. when do you start doing pas de deux? I haven't done it yet, do you need to be able to dance with a partner before you can join a company or whatever?
thanks

Answer
Usually you will want to have some partnering experience before joining a company.  Often students who dance at a local studio where there are fewer boys are only able to practice partnering during summer intensives.  I would suggest looking into a summer intensive where they have partnering classes or discussing your concern with your teacher who may be able to help you practice some pas de deux.

Expertise

I can answer lots about ballet, specifically the Vaganova syllabus. I'm still training, but both my parents were professional dancers, so most answers will be coming from them, not me. :) They're the experts. Obviously, questions about difficult technique, etc, would be better answered with someone else, but if you're just becoming interested in dancing, or are having problems with basic steps, like pirouettes or plies, then I may be able to help

Experience

I've seen ballet since the age of 0, because of my parents, and I am training to become a professional dancer now.
