Question
I have been interested in ballet for quite a while and was wondering weather it was too late for me to start, I'm quite short at 5'2 and weigh around 98lb, I was wondering what your opinion is on my situation?

Thanks.

Answer
Hi Alice. 16 is not too late to start ballet. You may not catch up to the earlier starters and go professional, yet you can love the dancing and take it as far as you like.

Check out all your local ballet schools and see which one has adult ballet beginners' classes or teen classes.

If a school says they are putting you into a class with the ten year olds, go for it. You will probably get more detailed instruction, if that's what you want.

All the best, Dianne
