Answer
Hi Airen. Sorry to hear about your injury.

I recommend that you do Pilates mat work to keep your muscles strong. You can buy DVDs that teach you how to do this, though taking a few classes if possible would be the ideal way to start. Pilates is very much like ballet in the way that the muscles are used.

If you want to dance ballet professionally, you must study in a professional school. This is for sure, and once your injury has healed, go back to the most professional ballet school you can find in your area. I hope this is possible for you.

Learning a simple meditation with deep breathing is excellent for stress management. You can probably find some articles about that on your computer, or a book at your local library.

Swimming, by the way, is a very safe cross training for  dancers to do. There is no joint stress at all, and it is very strengthening.

I hope all goes well with your recovery, Dianne.
