Question
my daughter has gone to lots of ballet schools and all of them have been terrible so when this year i found a fantastic one who is kind and told my daughter she could do the intermediate exam this xmas we were very happy untill today when she asked if she fails this exam what is my back up plan i was taken back and i am deeply upset after paying her for private lessons every week including the holidays how do i deal with this and how do i confront her as i am so upset

Answer
I'm not sure what type of school this is (is it RAD, Balanchine, Vaganova...?), but it's good that you were happy with it.  Did you feel your daughter was improving?  Did she feel she was improving?
Did your daughter or her teacher ask you about the backup plan.  If it is your daughter, she may just be slightly nervous and want another option.  If it was the teacher then perhaps you could talk to her about suggestions for a back up plan or things to work on in class in order to pass the exam.   I'm sure things will work out fine!  Please feel free to ask me any more questions.

Expertise

I can answer lots about ballet, specifically the Vaganova syllabus. I'm still training, but both my parents were professional dancers, so most answers will be coming from them, not me. :) They're the experts. Obviously, questions about difficult technique, etc, would be better answered with someone else, but if you're just becoming interested in dancing, or are having problems with basic steps, like pirouettes or plies, then I may be able to help

Experience

I've seen ballet since the age of 0, because of my parents, and I am training to become a professional dancer now.
