Question
Hello,
I was wondering if you could help me with my  associate ballet please. I know i need to learn all the grades from prep to grade v1. What else is there i need to do, ie is there a portfolio i need to do, if so what do i need to put in it?. What books do i need to buy? any websites that may be useful?

I have been sent to a school and already they are doing grade v. we have had 2 lessons on this and already moving on to grade v1 this week, it all seems a bit rushed as i have yet to master v and retain the information, and not knowing what notes i need to write up for this.
Please could you explain in detail what i need to do.

I really would appreciate your help.
I believe we do pre-associate 1 and pre-associate 2 but can do this in one exam instead of 2 seperate ones.

Thank you
Carla

Answer
Hi Carla. I have not been through the kind of process myself, so searching, I found this site:

www.idta.co.uk    which offers membership and information. They offer the following books, among many others:

ADVANCED 1 BALLET CD - NEW
BALLET GRADES PREPARATORY - GRADE 3 DVD
ANATOMY & KINESIOLOGY BY THOMASEN & RIST
AN INTRODUCTION TO BELLY DANCING (PART 1) BOOK BY CHRISTOS SHAKALLIS & ELENA SHAKALLI + DVD
   2012 MONTH TO VIEW DIARY
   ARPEGGIO CD
   BALLET ADVANCED 2./FELLOWSHIP EXAMINATION CD
A TECHNIQUE OF ADVANCED STANDARD BALLROOM FIGURES BY GEOFFREY HEARN.
   BALLET GRADES 4 - 6 DVD
ANOREXIA NERVOSA & BULIMIA PAPER BY DR. RICHARD PEARSON

It seems this is the kind of info you need - and perhaps a membership gives you access to more information.

All the best with your training! Regards, Dianne
