Ballet/Dance

QuestionI used to dance when i was about 11 or 12 years old (jazz, tap, ballet), I did
this for about 4 years. I ended up having to quit because of lack of finances
and because of other personal problems. Dancing was my life and my
everything. I was talented at it, a quick learner, I had what my dance teacher
called "the perfect turnout", one she said she'd never seen before, and I
progressed very fast. Now that I'm 19 I'm really beginning to miss it dearly. If
I could go back I would've never quit. But I did and now I'm wanting to know
if there is any way that I could take it up again with private tutors and classes.
and be professional. I know its far-fetched but I'm just curious. I would love
for some advice on this whole issue.
Sincerly,
Danielle
AnswerIt will be harder to become a professional the later you start. However, it's definitely not impossible, especially since you have the turnout and quick learning skills. If you restarted your training with a serious teacher who has danced professionally and has a method to their teaching you will have a good chance. I don't think you need a private teacher, although you can look into that too. I don't have much experience with private teachers. Even if you decide becoming a professional isn't what you want, you should still go back to dance! It's a great form of exercise and teaches balance, determination, and courage.
Best of luck to you =]
