About Connie
Expertise
I can answer lots about ballet, specifically the Vaganova syllabus. I'm still training, but both my parents were professional dancers, so most answers will be coming from them, not me. :) They're the experts. Obviously, questions about difficult technique, etc, would be better answered with someone else, but if you're just becoming interested in dancing, or are having problems with basic steps, like pirouettes or plies, then I may be able to help

Experience
I've seen ballet since the age of 0, because of my parents, and I am training to become a professional dancer now.

Education/Credentials
School.

Ballet - Dance

Question
I used to dance when i was about 11 or 12 years old (jazz, tap, ballet), I did
this for about 4 years. I ended up having to quit because of lack of finances
and because of other personal problems. Dancing was my life and my
everything. I was talented at it, a quick learner, I had what my dance teacher
called "the perfect turnout", one she said she'd never seen before, and I
progressed very fast. Now that I'm 19 I'm really beginning to miss it dearly. If
I could go back I would've never quit. But I did and now I'm wanting to know
if there is any way that I could take it up again with private tutors and classes.
and be professional. I know its far-fetched but I'm just curious. I would love
for some advice on this whole issue.

Sincerly,
Danielle

Answer
It will be harder to become a professional the later you start.  However, it's definitely not impossible, especially since you have the turnout and quick learning skills.  If you restarted your training with a serious teacher who has danced professionally and has a method to their teaching you will have a good chance.  I don't think you need a private teacher, although you can look into that too.  I don't have much experience with private teachers. Even if you decide becoming a professional isn't what you want, you should still go back to dance!  It's a great form of exercise and teaches balance, determination, and courage.
Best of luck to you =]
