Question
I want to start getting healthy and get fit - is dancing alone enough to tone up and lose a little weight?

Answer
Hi Becky. That would depend on how "unfit" you are, and what your background with exercise is.

If you have no medical issues, then dancing is great for toning muscles, and for general health. However, if you have previous injuries, or are older and out of shape, Pilates, Classical Stretch, or swimming might be a better alternatives for you.
Do you plan to do something at home or get into classes?

Dance, being an art form definitely has that as a plus over exercise regimens.

Sorry I can't answer more than that. Please ask me again if you feel like giving me more specific information.

All the best, Dianne
