Question
i'm 14 and i've been takin ballet for 6 yrs. and 2 months. i have strong leg and ankle muscles, my turnout is great, and i can do double pirouttes on each side. am i ready for pointe, i'm in the class below beginner\intermediate pointe-i take the class i'm in for an hour and a half twice a week. also i'm not fat, but i'd like to be thinner- wat diet do u recommend for me?

Answer
I can't tell if you're ready for pointe because I can't see you. The best thing to do is ask your teacher "is there anything I can do to prepare for pointe work, I'd like to do that soon." and see what she says.
http://www.theballetstore.com has a lot of my articles on diet and safe weight loss. In the article, blog, and forum sections.

Dancers are invited to start their own blog and participate in the forum too - it's quite new.

Read all the info, and please feel free to ask if you have any more questions.

All the best, Dianne

A brief follow up - I've recommended to almost everyone to read my articles and blog entries at http://www.theballetstore.com You have to create a user name to log in to see all the blog entries - your privacy is safe! I really apologize that I didn't tell you this - I'm not a technical person!
