QuestionWhat causes the plant to become infected? Could it be from being placed in front of a vent? Please let me know, so I can avoid the problem in the future.
Thank you.

Help ASAP!!!!
I've had my bamboo plant for about one year and it was doing great until I had to move the plant this fall. I have 2 bamboo stems placed in a vase with pebbles and water. And ever since I inadvertently placed the plant in front of a vent one of the stems appears to have died. The other stem didn't seem to be affected. The very bottom and the very top of the bamboo and the leaves are still green. But the rest of the stem has become yellow/brown with black dots throughout the stem. The stem also looks like it's wrinkled/shrinking. The stem feels hollow. I noticed a green substance, like algae/chlorophyll in the vase. I have since moved the plant and changed the vase, pebbles and water. Is there any chance that my "lucky" bamboo plant will come back to life??
Thank you,
Cindy

AnswerDear Cindy
On the basis of the symptoms, I am predicting that your plant is suffered with any rot or blight disease. Some times this type of diseases are transmitted from mother stock. Secondly it may be due to improper nutrition. Therefore I suggested to do so, if we remove the infected plant then we can save other plants from infection.
