Question
hi, im asha currently studying final year of electronics and commn. engg. my q is why do we use bpsk modulation in satellites and not qpsk or better techniques

Answer
Hi Asha,

Both forms of phase shift keying are used in satellite communication, and one is not preferred over the other, it is just a question of occupied bandwidth, coding and access techniques implemented, that makes the preferred choice between the two.

a new modulation technique is being developed for satellite communication, it is derived from the bandwidth efficient GMSK.

regards.
