Banjo/First Time Banjo Enquiry
Expert: Price Patterson - 10/27/2008
QuestionHey Price,
At the moment i have been looking around at banjos and i'm quite interested in learning to play it but im not sure whether or not its a good idea. This is because i previously bought a guitar (thinking i'd enjoy learning to play it) and spent alot of money but ended up selling it. I dont want to spend lots of money on a banjo in case i dont enjoy it (or give up). Do you have any advice for someone who is interested in banjos? Whether it be purchasing or learning to play it?
Thanks in advance,
Kyle
Answeri understand about the guitar and the lack of drive. that will be the case with the banjo as well i'm afraid. but you have to really want to play this awesome instrument. and you have to want to do it big time. the biggest advice that i have for you is this; PRACTICE. even if you dont grasp it, your BRAIN will. play play play play play. and talk to people about what is happening to you. go to banjohangout.org and sign up. you will love it. as far as what to buy. go cheap first. like a deering goodtime with a resonator. hope i helped and happy pickin
