Question
Hi,
I recently filed for bankruptcy and it didn't work out.  My lawyer suggested that I convert to Ch. 13, so I didn't, but I was faced with outrageous payments so I am planning on dismissing my case.  I want to settle with credit card companies, how do I go about doing that?  Do I wait for the credit card companies to go into collection then settle with the collection agencies? or do I speak with the credit card companies directly?
Thank you so much.

Answer
If you want to make settlements with your creditors, you can either contact them directly, use an attorney to negotiate them, or use one of the consolidation companies out there.  Be sure to look up any company with the better business bureau to make sure they are a reputable company.
