Question
The trustee has put a hold on my tax refund of $4,172.00. I was told it would
be sent to the trustee and he would keep a percentage to distribute to my
creditors and send the rest to me. What percentage do they take and how is
that calculated? I receive that amount because i am a single mom with one
child and only make $25,000 a year. Wouldn't  you think some of that should
come to me to help with my daughter?

Answer
Each jurisdiction differs on how much of your tax refund can be protected.  Speak with your lawyer so they can maximize your exemptions available to protect as much of the refund as they can.  This amount varies...some states you can only protect as little as $100!
