Bankruptcy Law/REOPENING CH.7

Question
I filed for ch. 7 in dec. of 05, and was and received my discharge (no asset
estate) in march of 2006. I recently found out that their was a car loan that I
missed during filing. can I reopen my case(State of oregon) to include it now?
I am desperately trying to move on from this, and this new finding is
devastating me. The loan has been charged off to bad debt by the granter but
this is still holding me back from trying to purchase my first home. I don't
know what to do!

Answer
You will have to pay the court fee to reopen your case.  You will need to bring a motion to reopen, then to amend, then to discharge the case.  This is going to be up to the judge, and they may ask why this wasn't in the case previously.  I have been successful in each motion I have brought to reopen, so as long as it was an innocent error, you will hopefully have the same results.
