Question
I was wondering if wage garnishment is the only way repayment plan works for Chap. 13 after the repayment plans has been approved.  I read that United State Courts does not require it but local courts may.  Do you if Northern Ill Dist allow self pay or ACH payment other than garnishment ?  if not is there cases where it is allowed ?

Answer
You may have the option to mail in direct payments to the chapter 13 trustee (at least in Chicago), however you would need to go get certified funds -cashiers check or money order each month.  It is usually more successful when a debtor is on payroll control, that way the payment is out of sight and out of mind.
