Question
Hi Mark

My question for you is that if I am going to file for bankruptcy and the accounts that are joint with my wife and I, would that affect my wife? What I am trying to say is that would a bankruptcy show on my wifes credit report?  Please get back to me at your convenience.

Answer
If you file the bankruptcy case individually without your wife, the bankruptcy itself should not show on her credit report, although if the debts are not paid and she is jointly liable for them, then those negative marks would appear on her credit report.
