Bankruptcy Law/over-stating income

Question
I regrettably over-stated my income on my last credit application, not
considering bankruptcy at the time (8 months ago). The amount owed now is
$8000 on that card plus a lot more on other cards. The advice I've heard is to
keep making payments till a year has gone by before filing and the creditor
probably won't oppose. Does that sound right? Thank you.

Answer
Creditors can object for fraud on your credit application, if it was drastically wrong.  You will have to roll the dice to see if they object.  If it has been a long time, and you have made consistent payments, it would be unlikely that they object.  if you do chapter 13, then it won't be an issue since you are paying back debt.
