Question
We have filed bankruptcy in WI and it is all said and done.  However today I recieved and bill from the township we lived in... For property taxes... I was under the impression we were done with anything pertaiing to the house. Do we still have to pay this bill?

Answer
Until the home forecloses or your transfer title to the lender (or sell) you are responsible for any of the cost of the home - taxes, utilities, assessments etc. Normally taxes stay with the land, so they will be accounted for in the foreclosure. Check with your attorney to be sure, as I am only licensed in IL in case there are any local rules for real estate up in WI. Good luck.
