Question Is there any help for people who need to file bankruptcy and had to go on public assistance due to lack of work? We live in beaver county, PA. My husaband lost his business due to no work in the construction field (7 months ago), and just recently had to start working for someone at a new, WAY LOWER paying job. We had to apply for assistance and there is no way we'll ever be able to still pay the bills that we owe. Not to mention the taxes that his business would have had to pay. I find it harder to get out of bed more every day, I feel like there's no hope.
Answer
Look into a Legal Aid Society in your area. They will generally provide bankruptcy assistance service for people who qualify. Another option is to find an attorney who will work pro-bono on your case. There may be organizations in your area that can connect you with attorneys who are willing to donate their time. This may be one organization in your area that may be able to assit you: http://www.nlsa.us/legal_information/consumer/consumer.htm
