Question
My wife and I have just filed chapter 7, can we re-affirm our mortgage and two cars on our own without the use of an attorney? If so, what must we do?

Answer
Ivan,

Yes, it certainly is.

You will need to fill out reaffirmation agreements (usually this is form 240A) and get them approved by the court.

Unfortunately, I cannot give you a comprehensive guide to reaffirmation agreements here. But I can assure you that you can do this!

I do suggest is that you look at nolo.com (NO AFFILIATION but I do believe in their product) and you purchase their  How to File Chapter 7 book.

In this book you will find a sample reaffirmation agreement. They have to be filed 60 days after your 341 meeting.

I hope this helps point you in the right direction.
