Question My husband and I are currently waiting for our bankruptcy to discharge. We included our home in the bk and currently have it listed for sale. I was wondering if it made since to sell the house or just let the lender put it on the sheriff Sale list? We'll we have a bk and foreclosure on our credit report? Thank you...
Answer You can sell it up until the foreclosure, if you do it while the case is open, you need to notify the court, and get approval to close. IF it is after discharge, this wouldn't be needed. IF the home forecloses, the debt is discharged, but the fact that it happened would show on your credit report.
