Question I had a couple of debts that went to judgment in a municipal court a few years ago. After that I declared chapter 7 bankruptcy and those debts were discharged. I know that the court was provided with notice of both my filing and my discharge but they refuse to release the judgments. What can I do about this and is it a violation of the law?

Answer You need to be more specific about what you mean when you say they "refuse to release" the judgments. Do you mean the creditor is trying to collect on the judgment or do you mean that there is a lien against particular assets that isn't removed, or what?
