Question
We filed for Chapter 7 in the Southern District of GA on 10/30/09. We had our hearing on 12/4/09 and the trustee recommended we receive a discharge of all debts. The US Trustee issued their statement "that the Presumption of Abuse does Not Arise"on 12/14. We did all the required credit courses in a timely manner. We still have not received our discharge.I have read that in some states the discharge will be granted in 60 days from the hearing. We are well past that now, should we be concerned?

Answer
Have you filed your debtor education certificate yet? If not, then do so immediately.
The last day for creditors to object is listed on the 341 notice. If that date has passed, you can call the clerk to see what the holdup is. If there was a motion on file, the court sometimes holds it to make sure the calendar is clear before wrapping up the case.
