Question
I was involved in a personal injury lawsuit and lost.  Now the defendant is coming after me to pay their expenses.  Can I file bankruptcy to avoid them taking my home.

There's not enough information to answer your question.  What was the basis of the personal injury?  Was this driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated?  Was it an assault with intent to harm?   Most personal injury debts can be discharged in a bankruptcy case.

As for whether you can save your home, that depends on the equity in the home and what exemptions you have under applicable state law.
