Question
We are living overseas for last six months, and planning to file bankcruptcy in the state of California. We resided in California before we moved to a different country, and we still own a house in California. Will it be possible for filing bankcruptcy from the overseas?

Answer
Yes, it is possible to do that, although it is certainly more complicated.  As long as you meet the eligibility requirements for a particular chapter (i.e. your budget, etc.) then you can file the bankruptcy here.  You must have a local address where you regularly receive mail.
