Question
How long after receiving a settlement from an auto accident do you have to wait before filing chpt. 13 in Washington state? What are the rules around that.
You do not need to wait. Talk to a local bankruptcy attorney to review personal injury and wildcard (for cash) exemptions you can use. If there are no exemptions available, then you may need to pay back a higher percentage of debt (enough to protect the asset that is not exempt)
